CHALICE LIGHTERS PROGRAM
Do you have a great idea to help your church grow but need more cash to get it done? Perhaps a Chalice Lighter grant could help. If you would like your church to be considered for the next Chalice Lighter grant please complete an application and submit it to the Chalice Lighter Coordinator at the SWUUC Office. We need to have your application
in the office no later than June 10, 2008.
Current Call: SPRING 2008 CALL
The Spring 2008 Chalice Lighter Call for the Southwestern Unitarian Universalist Conference is to help Bay Area Unitarian Universalist Church of Houston, Texas, fund a sound system for their new Fellowship Hall. The Fellowship Hall is an important, new addition to Bay Area UU Church.
Bay Area UU Church is in use nearly every evening, and the new sound system will provide versatile options for religious education programming, public events, and committee work. The sound system that the Bay Area UU Church seeks will do much to improve some of the technical problems they currently experiences. More importantly, it will greatly facilitate their outreach ministry.
Your contributions to the Chalice Lighter program will help Bay Area UU Church reach their goal. All of your contributions (100%) go to the Chalice Lighter recipient. Let’s see if we can contribute at the top level for our friends at Bay Area, who are seeking $15,000 in Chalice Lighter assistance. Your Chalice Lighter contribution will help finance a quality sound system that is vital to Bay Area’s growing ministry and community outreach.
If this is your first call, please give generously. If you have participated in Chalice Lighters previously, please continue to give generously. In order to be a Chalice Lighter, each of us gives a minimum of $10 in response to each call. There are three Calls each year. This is a worthwhile project and the folks at Bay Area could really use your help. Your contribution will return benefits to Unitarian Universalists all over the District for years.
Please make copies of this letter and distribute them to the members of your congregation. Talk to your friends at church about this worthwhile program. Share the enclosed Chalice Lighter brochure! All of us, putting our resources together, can get this done.
