Fall Harvest
Leadership Training
Southern Region
2012
November 9-11, 2012
Glen Lake Retreat Center, Glen Rose, Texas
This year we are offering five different tracks at the Fall Harvest Leadership Training, led by talented presenters. Participants and leaders of the five tracks will meet separately but
gather as a community for worship and for meals.
The five tracks offered this year are:
We are offering programming for elementary through junior high children this year. The program will be on evolution with visits to Fossil Rim and Dinosaur Valley Parks. While this is a multi-generational event, we are not yet able to offer child care. We hope to do that in years to come and welcome your input and ideas on whether that would be helpful to you and your family.
Glen Rose Retreat Center offers a variety of housing options for Fall Harvest Leadership Training attendees. Families may want to stay at the Glen Rose La Quinta so they can stay in one room. Glen Rose, Texas has other options available and is located approximately 40 miles southwest of Fort Worth. Go here for directions.
High school youth are welcome and encouraged to attend any of the 5 tracks and we hope to see youth in each. Youth will either stay with their family or, if attending with an adult advisor from their congregation, in one of two cabins (separated by gender). Youth and adults attending with youth must fill out extra forms which can be found here (also included in the paper brochure). If your congregation wishes to send a youth leader without a parent or advisor, please call the district office to discuss options.
The five tracks offered this year are:
- Making a Meaningful Worship Year, led by Rev. Susan Smith
- The Great Adventure, led by Connie Goodbread
- Multiculturalism in UU Leadership: Cross Cultural Empathy, led by Raziq Brown
- Administration of Faith Development Programs, led by Patti Withers and Pat Ellenwood
- Pastoral Care Training, led by Jennifer Nichols and Elandria Williams
