Title: Youth Coordinator
Location: 2710 Newtown Road, Cincinnati, OH 45244
FTE: 15% (6 hours per week), primarily on Sundays Reports To: Director of Religious Education

Start Date: July 1, 2008
Position Description & Responsibilities: Delivers, coordinates, and evaluates the youth program for grades 9-12, including worship, education, social activities, social action projects, and service to the church community and leadership development.
Responsibilities include: coordinating and facilitating youth programming and activities; participation in staff meetings, committees, and worship services; function as primary internal and external contact for youth communications; facilitate monthly Youth-Adult Committee meetings and interact regularly with regional/district UU groups.

• Demonstrated experience in advancing tenets of Unitarian Universalist faith
• Prior experience leading youth groups
• Teaching experience, especially with High School youth
• Writing and program development skills
• Understanding of website maintenance
• Energetic, fun, and with good sense of humor

Compensation: $300 monthly

• Excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills• Superior interpersonal skills with youth, parents, and adults
• Team player who works well within the church structure and empowers our youth
• Basic budgeting and expense tracking skills
• Intermediate technology skills (computing, phones, email, internet, etc.)
• Age 21 or older with valid drivers’ license and excellent driving record
• Willingness to travel in and out of state to attend conferences, training, and other events with the youth
• Flexible in scheduling activities and punctual in attendance
• Understanding of and observation of appropriate boundaries with youth
• High personal integrity – pre-employment background check is required
• Open, accepting, respectful, and compassionate toward youth and the diverse viewpoints in a liberal religious environment
• Commitment to Unitarian Universalism, and the spiritual and ethical growth of youth
• Adapts well to change
