Lifespan Faith Development

Lifespan Faith Development

What does that mean anyway - lifespan faith development?  Whether you consider it to be religious, spiritual, faith, or just life, we are each of us, regardless of age, on a journey.  We choose to come together in our congregations with others on their journeys.  When we interact as a spiritual and religious community, everything that we do is faith development.  In fact, there is some current discussion that adding "lifespan" to "faith development" makes it a redundent statement.

So if everything we do in our religious communities is faith development, how does SWUUC fit into the picture?  After all SWUUC is not a congregation, it is a subdivision of the Unitarian Universalist Association, an association of congregations.  As you may know through UUA or other experience, we can sometimes accomplish things together that we can't do individually and that is where SWUUC comes in.  SWUUC provides training for religious professionals and lay leaders of all sorts.  Some of our offerings are sorted by special interests.  If you look at the tabs above you will see many of them.  Take a look around and let us know what you think!

The Southwestern Unitarian Universalist Conference employs a full time Program Consultant.  Jennifer Nichols has been the SWUUC's Director for Lifespan Faith Development since June 2001.
