"ANTI-HARASSMENT POLICY
It is the policy of the Southwestern Unitarian Universalist Conference (the "District") to maintain an environment in connection with its operations and programs that is free from all forms of harassment and to insist that all persons are treated with dignity, respect, and courtesy. Sexual and other forms of harassment are contrary to District policy and prohibited by law. The District will not tolerate any form of harassment.
Harassment occurs:
(1) when submission to conduct such as unwelcome sexual advances, requests for sexual favors, or other verbal or physical conduct of a sexual nature is made either explicitly or implicitly as a term or condition of an individual's participation in District operations and programs (including, but not limited to, employment);
(2) when submission to or rejection of such conduct by an individual is used as the basis for decisions, including, but not limited to employment decisions, affecting the individual or others;
(3) when such conduct has the purpose or effect of unreasonably interfering with an individual's participation or performance, including,
but not limited to, work performance, or creating an intimidating, hostile, or offensive working environment.
As a matter of District policy, all grievances or complaints of harassment will be taken seriously and will be investigated and handled promptly, thoroughly, and confidentially and, where necessary, the District will take immediate and appropriate action to stop and remedy any such conduct. Any person found in violation of this District policy is subject to disciplinary action, including removal and exclusion from District programs and operations.
Volunteers and employees of the District have a responsibility to report incidents of harassment, sexual or otherwise. Incidents of harassment should be reported to the representative of the District that is in charge of the event at which the harassment occurs (the "Representative") or the District Executive if the Representative is either not available or involved in the incident. Incidents of harassment allegedly by the District Executive should be reported to the President of the District Board."
"DISTRICT POLICY ON EQUAL OPPORTUNITY
It is the policy of the Southwestern Unitarian Universalist Conference (the "District") to provide opportunity with respect to its operations and programs, including, but not limited to employment opportunity, for all persons without regard to race, color, religion, disability, sex, sexual or affectional orientation, gender identity or expression, or national origin. It is further the policy of the District to comply with the Age Discrimination in Employment Act of 1967. This policy applies to all phases of District operations and programs."
